Brand Strategy and Management is responsible for leading efforts focused on increasing the value of Cardinal Health brands. This includes defining and implementing brand strategy, providing brand-related consultation, managing various brand assets and resources, and educating employees and external partners to ensure maximum brand consistency.

  • Demonstrates solid understanding of brand strategy and principles of brand and marketing management.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Is able to clearly communicate and defend ideas that may be unpopular.
  • Demonstrates experience working within an established brand identity system.
  • Counsels and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to execute brand strategies and plans that meet both company and business objectives.
  • Prioritizes tasks and projects according to business needs and tight deadlines.
  • Collaborates effectively with Centers of Excellence to ensure that all brand-related efforts support the Cardinal Health company brand strategy.

Accountabilities in this role
The Medical Products Brand Strategy Manager develops and works with a team to implement and integrate the product brand strategy for Cardinal Health owned and acquired brands. The job requires strategic insight, individual and collaborative leadership and a highly developed set of marketing skills that will successfully translate into improved sales, market share, profits and brand equity, while successfully influencing multiple stakeholders, at varying levels.

Brand Strategy – Development and Integration

  • Establishes product brand strategy and positioning for Cardinal Health owned brands
  • Defines product brand strategy for acquired company/brand portfolio
  • Develops plan and budget for product brand integration activities
  • Executes brand transition activities
  • Manages day to day relationship with agencies and acts as primary liaison to execute brand strategy activities (including labeling and packaging)
  • Sets and implements product naming and trademark strategies
  • Partners with Communications team to build and implement change management communications strategies and plans
  • Conducts internal brand education and socializes brand strategy to gain buy-in


  • Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • 8+ years experience in related field, preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in related field, preferred.
  • Experience in one of the following required: Marketing, healthcare, agency, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or retail
  • Previous project management required
