What Engineering Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Engineering Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Engineering function. The OpEx Engineering Manager is responsible for site Operational Excellence (OpEx) and Operations Engineering support for the site. These responsibilities include the development and management of department budget, staff, project identification and prioritization, capital budget, Project Management, Corporate OpEx reporting and alignment, and long term physical site master planning. All of these responsibilities are aimed at providing technical and project management support to the operations and other support groups on the site.



Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in related field required
  • A minimum of 6+ years related work experience required
  • Ability to lead team toward operational objectives
  • Aptitude to contribute to strategic goal-setting for department/business unit

The primary purpose of OpEx is to manage lead process and continuous improvement initiatives through the use of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and other team-based, structured problem-solving methods. Perform tasks related to product and process time standards, production and manpower planning, capital projects and process design, startup and modification. Coordinate efforts of support groups as they affect Operations. Act as the lean coordinators for the site and as the liaison for continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts between departments and with other sites. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the program from developing the vision and framework to implementing and maintaining, training hourly and salary personnel as needed, implementing systems to track and sustain improvements, coordinating efforts between various departments, and reporting the program’s progress to all levels of the organization.
