Hospital Pharmacy Technician Remote Order Entry

Through our remote service, we serve acute-care hospitals, providing you an opportunity to practice hospital pharmacy outside of a hospital setting. Utilize your clinical skills – including monitoring, dosing and reviewing patient medication therapy – and leave the dispensing to the hospital. This unique approach to pharmacy operations results in flexible work schedules, a team environment and time for you to focus on what you do best – patient care.

Cardinal Health Remote Pharmacy Services is currently searching for a highly energetic and clinically oriented pharmacy technician to join our remote pharmacy team. The pharmacy technician is responsible for answering the telephone, handling calls from hospital staff and assists pharmacists with order entry. This position requires you to work within our licensed pharmacy and not from your home.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with both hospital and retail experience and be able to work the following schedule:

Must be available to work Monday through Friday 5:00 am to 1:00 pm and every other Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Accountabilities:

  • Assist Pharmacists and other Technicians with daily tasks
  • Handle doctor calls and faxes
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers
  • Works on projects as requested by pharmacy director
  • Performs order entry as needed

Qualifications:

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Previous work experience required in a hospital setting
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Must be registered or licensed as required by the State Board of Pharmacy
  • National certification is preferred
