The Cardinal Health at Home IT Production Support team provides second and third level software support to internal users and teams as well as performs application development and code corrections. Our team is committed to supporting infrastructure applications to maintain system performance and meet our customer medical supply needs.
Accountabilities in this role
Completes work independently; receives general guidance on small projects and works with business analysts and project managers on larger projects.
Responsible for knowledge and expertise in the business area being supported. This includes handling limited business analysis, gathering requirements, project design, and development steps for the business community. Assist in "white board" discussions where required to get clear scope of the project.
Track and resolve escalated program defects.
Responsible for being a member of the off hour call support for operations as they arise.
Troubleshooting: work with users to diagnose software and hardware errors or problems; correct problems if possible or direct them to the proper authority. Member of the daily rotation for Help Desk support.
Answer daily questions regarding current software and applications. Support IT staff; answer questions and respond to requests of the user base; assist users with software/programming problems; train users on current as well as new software products.
Promptly report any information regarding a known or suspected violation of any applicable laws, regulations, standards or company policy.
As applicable, present to management and staff.
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
4 years of experience working with Hyland Software’s OnBase product
OnBase System admin and workflow certification
OnBase API certification preferred
Proven analytical and problem solving skills applied to complex business applications and programming
Programming experience desired and experience with C# is preferable
Strong ability to understand the business and translate it into technology deliverables
Ability to work independently, multi-task and set priorities
Must be able to work co-operatively within a team as a team member
Results oriented with on-time and quality delivery; strong service orientation and detail oriented
Effective verbal and written communication skills
What Software Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health
Software Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.
Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.
Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.
