What Manufacturing Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health

Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for developing manufacturing processes, production floor layouts and associated tools. Reviews new designs for manufacturability. Designs process improvements to reduce product cost, process cycle time and improved product quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in related field required
  • A minimum of 2+ years related work experience required
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Responsibilities

  • As a member of our engineering team, you will develop and implement automation technologies and other troubleshooting to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality
  • You’ll also create applications to monitor and/or control molding, assembly and packaging equipment. Applications include developing test instruments, specifying programmable logic controllers, servos, HMIs, vision inspection systems and robots.
  • Be a part of major capital and maintenance projects by performing equipment validations, Gage R&R evaluations and engineering studies as needed to drive process capability.
  • Challenge yourself by developing cost savings plans: create cost schedules and project timelines that cause minimal interference with production, obtain quotes, and request funding from Corporate.
  • Write machine specifications and manages outside vendors and design to ensure compliance with developed machine specifications and schedules, long-term production, ease of maintenance and ease of operation.
  • Oversee installation of major capital projects, hires contractors and coordinates their work with manufacturing, maintenance and other operational departments.
  • Assist maintenance in diagnosing and solving production equipment problems.
