The Director, Marketing Management role will be the owner and driver of the commercial strategy and execution of the commercial marketing activities for the Independence Medical and Home Health Solutions businesses.

What Product or Services Marketing contributes to Cardinal Health

Product or Services Marketing is responsible for defining the customer marketing strategy including customer need identification, market opportunity definition, market research, positioning, promotion and branding.

  • Exhibits an ability to understand our businesses and translate market and customer needs into clearly defined goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive sales & profitability for the business. Accountable for gaining and driving cross functional support from all stakeholders.
  • Identifies and remains current on market trends. Determines service lifecycle implications and makes recommendations to maintain market competitiveness and to achieve sustainable economic success.
  • Understands methods available to execute primary research (VOC) that are necessary to drive portfolio/ product decisions. Can identify market opportunities through VOC/secondary research and take action by building, implementing and managing solutions that meet customer and patient needs. This includes, but is not limited to ownership of customer advisory boards.
  • Demonstrates strong expertise of marketing disciplines and concepts necessary for building a business & marketing plan, including channel & customer segmentation. Has the ability to understand market trends and competitive positioning.
  • Demonstrates strong financial acumen and logical decision making in the general business environment. Understands and can demonstrate sound thought processes as it relates to ROI, Marketing effectiveness & Budget management.
  • Works effectively across cross functional groups including but not limited to Sales, Category Management, Communications, & Operations.
  • Effectively leads the strategy and execution of the organization’s customer-facing events focused on providing value to all relevant stakeholders.

  • Develops and implements marketing strategy for internal customers
  • Interacts with all levels of internal and/or external leaders
  • Influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance


  • Bachelors and Advanced degree in Marketing, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • 8+ years experience in Marketing, preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience, preferred.
