IT Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership across multiple Information Technology disciplines. The person in this role will be expected to:

  • Provide leadership to managers and experienced professional staff
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals
  • Develop the strategy for the Information Technology group
  • Make decisions that have an extended impact on work processes, outcomes, and customers
  • Interact with internal and external leaders
  • Influence/persuade others in potentially uncomfortable situations while maintaining positive relationships
  • Understand business strategy and makes valuable contributions to companies success

Responsibilities:

  • Aligns IT strategy and plans to business strategy
  • Develops and maintains strong internal and external partnerships, at all levels
  • Manages/optimizes relationships and contracts with external partners (AT&T, Centric, etc)
  • Works closely with business team to understand systems/application/network/desktop availability requirements – negotiates with external SLAs (Service Level Agreements), as needed, to meet/exceed expectations
  • Leads/manages custom application support and development
  • Ensures systems and data are backed up and recoverable for business continuity
  • Manages/optimizes annual operating budget; partners with Finance to develop accurate forecasting model and “scorecard” reporting
  • Works closely with internal colleagues and external partners to continually improve cost efficiencies
    • Establishes annual stretch targets
    • Leverages competitive bid processes
  • Applies expertise and “outside the box thinking” to achieve financial and operational objectives
  • Makes decisions, often difficult and/or unpopular, that support the organization strategy; influences others to support the decisions
  • Identifies and initiates efforts to achieve objectives, teaching others to accept accountability for meeting and stretch to exceed results in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Anticipates internal/external business issues to align operational priorities, strategies and tactics
  • Develops value-added solutions that meet customer business needs
  • Develops broad influence through a robust set of internal/external relationships across the organization; promotes win-win outcomes within, among and across teams, using the diverse perspectives of others to achieve results
  • Influences customer and/or organizational leadership through effective listening and communication to accomplish operational objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree and/or Advanced Degree in related field or equivalent work experience in a highly regulated environment (e.g. Life Sciences, Financial Services, Government/Military) due to complexity of security and regulatory requirements
  • 12+ years’ experience in a related field preferred
  • Proven track record in:
    • Application development & support
    • Infrastructure development & support
    • Leading high performing teams
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with cloud-based solutions, infrastructure hosting services, and advanced outsourcing operating models
  • Strong financial acumen preferred
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Highly proficient with contracts, including advanced terms & conditions with hosting services, outsourcing, SLAs, balances scorecards, etc.
  • Strong people management skills
  • Strong presentation skills; ability to present data and conclusions in an organized and understandable fashion
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; general understanding and working knowledge of business analytics tools
  • Strong collaboration & communication skills
  • Versatile “player/coach” team player; willing to roll-up sleeves
