Why Is This Role Critical?

The Director, Clinical Strategy leads strategic projects and collaborates with stakeholders across the organization on initiatives to improve patient outcomes and drive value for our partners. Working closely with Health Services leaders and others across the enterprise, he or she manages or contributes significantly to projects related to clinical services and operations, including pilot projects and the development of new solutions. This individual is a key contributor to strategy development and conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis to glean salient insights. The Director, Clinical Strategy will develop subject-matter expertise on naviHealth’s clinical operations and services model and apply this knowledge to the projects he or she leads.

What you will be accountable for…

  • Lead short, dedicated projects focused on key value drivers or market opportunities, applying a consultative, hypothesis-driven approach (e.g., a “deep dive”)
  • Work with clinical and operations leaders and executive leaders to scope pilot projects, develop metrics to measure pilot success, and facilitate and scale pilot projects quickly
  • Research and analyze opportunities for care redesign projects or new clinical products and coordinate with operators and/or product managers on design and execution
  • Analyze clinical program performance metrics to identify insights and strategic recommendations to improve existing clinical programs and improve operations
  • Contribute to long-term strategies for growth, including innovation within our services model and new product development to enhance the impact of our clinical services
  • Create PowerPoint presentations and other written content for internal and external stakeholders, including monthly and quarterly executive operating meetings as well as strategic communications for clinical leaders and frontline colleagues
  • Coordinate with clinical stakeholders on quality improvement, process improvement, or innovation projects, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Clinical Officer or supervisor

What you need to be successful in this role…

  • BA or BS required; MBA or MHA preferred
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience
  • Education and/or experience in healthcare or consulting strongly preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Deep understanding of healthcare landscape, especially Medicare and value-based care
  • Experience managing internal innovation programs or strategic consulting projects
  • Ability to scope deliverables and adhere to a project plan, within time and budget
  • Creative-thinking and willingness to ask questions to improve a project or deliverable
  • Project management experience and strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Experience with research and quantitative analysis; advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, especially persuasive writing
  • Ability to function independently as well as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to work in fast pace, multi-tasking team environment while meeting deadlines
  • A passion for improving post-acute care for our patients and members
  • Willingness to travel to market locations or other offices, as needed (<10% travel time)
