What Territory Sales Consultant contributes to Cardinal Health

Territory Sales Consultant is responsible for acquiring and implementing new customers with a primary focus on the acute care environment (including IDN’s) and secondary focus on the post-acute class of trade (small to medium skilled nursing chains). Responsible for building long-term relationships with new and existing customers, Cardinal Health, and other professional organizations (Group Purchasing Organizations, etc). The complexity of the solution, product, or services offered is variable and can range from simple to moderately complex selling.

Accountabilities in this role

The Territory Sales Consultant is responsible for selling our complete portfolio of NPWT products. Reporting to a Regional Sales Manager or Director, the Territory Sales Consultant is accountable for generating new sales within targeted (acute and post-acute) facilities. The Territory Sales Consultant is responsible for selling products based on our value proposition, features and benefits, and for driving market share growth in an assigned geographic territory.

The Territory Sales Consultant will be responsible for developing positive, collaborative relationships with clinical care providers and key buying influencers including Physicians, WOCNs, Supply Chain/Purchasing Managers, Discharge Planners, Case Managers and other clinicians within the continuum of care, as well as targeted customers in the Acute and Extended Care facilities.

In addition to the sales functions of the assigned geography, the Territory Sales Consultant will perform multiple functions related to product readiness for patient utilization. Successful candidates will demonstrate a working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement across various classes of trade. The Territory Sales Consultant will be responsible for leading new large acute hospital and IDN implementations with support from clinical and services resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required; business degree preferred
  • Min 5 years sales experience; 2-3 years of medical or healthcare industry sales preferred; track record in the growing and sustaining of business relationships and generating revenue
  • Working knowledge of healthcare facilities and how to communicate, influence, negotiate, and mediate effectively with various levels of healthcare facility staff
  • Ability to travel primarily within geographically assigned territory
  • Valid driver's license
