Shift Supervisor, Manufacturing

Cardinal Health Canada is currently seeking for a Shift Supervisor in the Operations department for an immediate need within our Gananoque facility. This position will report directly to the Senior Production Leader. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain effective operation of our facility on all shifts on a 24/7 rotation.

Key Responsibilities

Active floor management

  • Ensure employees are working safely in compliance with OHSA
  • Safety investigation and participation support/management
  • Coordinate emergency protocols to assure employees are accounted for
  • Quality investigation support/management (i.e.: Crash cart non-conformances, CA)
  • Production output management
  • Equipment downtime management/Escalation/Follow-ups
  • Ensure timely Finished Goods release to QA/DHR review
  • Monitor Training- OJTC/Compliance Wire/DCN
  • Direct labor employee management, enforce policies and procedures
  • Lead Hand leadership and support in liaison with Sr Production Supervisor


  • Daily staff scheduling and managing  employees during downtime
  • Maintain a streamlined operation of all material, equipment, and cells
  • Monitor employee attendance and Kronos management
  • Generate daily shift reports as required
  • Monitor cleanliness of facility
  • Complete performance appraisals with assistance from lead hands & Sr Production Supervisor

Experience and Knowledge

  • High School diploma required; post-secondary education will be given preference
  • Knowledge of quality, machinery and manufacturing practices
  • Experience with safety and security measures considered a strong asset
  • Must be able to work the following schedule: 24/7, 12-hour shifts on a  rotating 2 weeks day shift, 2 weeks nights shift (work: 2 on, 2 off, 3 on – then repeats)
