What Payroll contributes to Cardinal Health

Payroll is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll according to company policy and applicable regulations, including FLSA regulations, Payroll Tax and garnishments.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of payroll laws and practices.
  • Interprets policy and documents payroll processes.
  • Manages payroll cycles and all associated processes and audits.
  • Interfaces with payroll vendor and monitors/manages vendor's delivery on service level agreements.
  • Provides payroll consultation.
  • Resolves complex employee inquiries regarding pay and associated processes.
  • Defines and maintains standard operating procedures for all payroll processes.

Accountabilties in this role

  • Subject matter expert for specialized areas of Payroll
  • Utilizes multiple systems to complete transactions (TSRM, Workday, ADP, etc.)
  • Interacts with third-party providers
  • Performs transaction assessments consistent with control framework
  • Accountable for service level and business performance goals
  • Maintains LWI's and call scripts for area
  • Resolves escalated HR process and policy inquiries requiring higher level knowledge and authority
  • Conducts data integrity audits as transactions are entered and completed
  • Participates in and contributes to scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process acumen
  • Performs special projects and any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • 5+ years experience in payroll/related field
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification, preferred
  • Knowledge of Canadian Payroll a plus
  • Knowledge of Puerto Rico Payroll a plus
