What Instructional Design & Development contributes to Cardinal Health

Instructional Design & Development is responsible for creating and implementing blended learning solutions.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles and concepts, instructional design theory, and measurement and evaluation methods.
  • Consults with business leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify performance needs and recommend solutions.
  • Uses instructional design methodology to design, develop and/or deliver blended learning solutions.
  • Evaluates and measures instructional solutions to gauge effectiveness.
  • Partners with external vendors to ensure programs/products meet requirements and objectives.
  • Uses e-learning authoring software programs to develop and deliver interactive training experiences.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions while partnering with members of the Learning Technologies Team to add, administer and maintain training in the learning management system.
  • Facilitates instructor-led training demonstrating effective use of presentation/facilitation tools, techniques, and materials, etc.

Accountabilities

Function: Learning

The Learning Function is responsible for facilitating instructor-led training (ILT), evaluating courses and managing training processes association with ILT.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles and concepts, instructional design theory, and measurement and evaluation methods.
  • Consults with business leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify performance needs and recommend solutions.
  • Uses instructional design methodology to design, develop and/or deliver blended learning solutions.
  • Evaluates and measures instructional solutions to gauge effectiveness
  • Partners with external vendors to ensure programs/products meet requirements and objectives.

Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for the creation of all new knowledge, maintenance of existing knowledge; working across multiple technology teams, business teams and ServiceUniversity.
  • Ensures all documentation produced is consistent with standards and includes appropriate content and depth for each topic.
  • Responsible for the success of the knowledge transfer activities associated with each assigned request or project.
  • Provide in depth knowledge and expertise in developing/enhancing processes and methodologies
  • Interviews key project participants and documents findings.
  • Reviews existing documentation and extracts relevant information regarding key processes and tools.
  • Validates accuracy of documentation through an appropriate review process.
  • Produces statistical reporting against process effectiveness, knowledge usage and audit results
  • Provides regular communications regarding the status of required activities.
  • Participates in regular project status meetings.
  • May also participate in other key projects such as process design and performance management activities.
  • Curates content to prevent duplication of materials or outdated content
  • Establish an overall governance process around content input and updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in related field, preferred.
