What Security contributes to Cardinal Health

The Cardinal Health Global Security vision is to function in tandem with the company’s business needs and to proactively and innovatively prevent or mitigate risk while protecting significant company assets, and being prepared to respond in an appropriate and professional manner when required.  The Security Senior Advisor, will assist the Global Security team in protecting Cardinal assets; people, products, property and information.  Security is responsible for providing measures to safeguard Cardinal Health's assets from circumstances that would cause loss or harm.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of security concepts, policies, and procedures.
  • Recognizes and anticipates security incidents and issues and escalates or responds appropriately.
  • Identifies physical risk and assists with risk mitigation.
  • Conducts site security audits and investigations.
  • Applies industry, government and company specific security standards to solve problems and provides guidance.
  • Completes and/or reviews incident reports.

Security System Programming (40%)

• Acts as the main point of contact for new security system programming for Lenel OnGuard, Axis cameras, Mobotix Intercoms, and Easy Lobby Visitor Management
• Provides programming services to the field
• Support projects that leverage the physical security infrastructure and systems
• Programs all facilities in a common format
• Work in coordination with the other departments
• Works in coordination with Manager, Security Technology to review proposals and how they would impact the Lenel system
• Maintains log of system licenses
• Responsible for programming multiple segments and multiple independent Lenel systems across the globe
• Assist in development of standard operating procedures regarding programming
• Assist in develop of a strategic plan for the integration of all security platforms globally
• Build relationships, coordinate with and direct security integrators and product vendors
• Attend meetings required for all personnel and complete all mandatory training courses

Security System Service (40%)

• Act as the main point of contact for all security technology service related issues both in Dublin and throughout the Enterprise
• Assist in development of service response strategy
• Respond to telephone, ticket and e-mail requests in a professional, efficient and customer-centric manner
• Determine what type of security system is on-site and engage appropriate security vendor
• Maintains a thorough understanding of the service expectations for each business unit
• Monitors service calls and service call progress through web service portal
• Provide updates to the field locations on the status of their service call
• Follow up with vendors to make sure service calls and issues are resolved within the set expectations for resolution
• Identify areas for improvement and resolve inefficiencies
• Review service invoices to make sure they are in compliance with established MSA pricing
• Maintain service log and service updates in the Security Technology SharePoint website.
• Provide system audits Identify locations with repeat service issues and report them to Manager, Security Technology
• Manage and monitor condition and operation of security equipment (video surveillance system, badge access administration) through regular testing and auditing of system
• Review and file all security logs (post logs, system equipment check logs)
• On-call support as required and based on a rotation
• Write material that comprehensively summarizes and/or presents findings in an organized manner

Training (20%)

• Lenel field training support as needed
• Assist in development of training SOP’s
• Provide routine quarterly web-based group training to the field
• Provide OnGuard administration training to the Security Operations and Intelligence Center personnel

Location: Texas or California

Travel: up to 25%


- Lenel/Axis certifications required, Bachelor's degree highly preferred

- 7 to 10 years’ minimum in a security technology related field

- Spanish fluency required (written and verbal)

- Must have a proven track record in successfully providing programming and service support

- Knowledge and experience in Lenel, Axis, Bosch, Easy Lobby, Mobotix

- Experience with IT applications management and/or security operation

- Firm understanding of the balance between business and security

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Show ability to resolve problems and develop process improvements

- Be able to apply knowledge and experiences to the rapidly changing environment
