Segment Manager, Test COE

What is expected of you and others at this level:

  • Accountable for delivery of Testing Services for the Segment; across a Program or Project by effectively utilizing Automation Tools across all phases of software delivery
  • Accountable for managing financial targets such as team budget, project forecasts, roadmap investment plans, training forecasts, travel & entertainment, etc.
  • Develops strong relationships with EIT teams of the assigned Business Segment
  • Serves as an ‘Account Manager’ for the segment; constantly and proactively seeking to solve problems, provide solutions, and influence outcomes in support of the business objectives of the segment
  • Communicates (written and oral) effectively with a cross-functional audience as well as across management levels; presents ideas and business cases concisely and at the right level of detail for the audience
  • Partners with stakeholders on problem-solving, innovation, or continuous improvements outside of immediate area of focus or departmental goals
  • Leads and or contributes in the transformation of the Testing COE as an enabler of Automated Testing across the Enterprise
  • Promotes ‘automation as a way of life’ narrative and utilizes Organizational Change Management principles to implement changes
  • Develops Test Strategy at Segment, Program, or Project level to develop solutions that are either cloud-based or traditional monoliths
  • Develops, Contributes, and Continuously Improves capabilities such as Test Data Management, Validation, DevOps, CI/CD, Automation, Agile Testing, and Managed Services under the framework of Hosted Practices
  • Collaborates with leaders using the ‘leaders-in-a-box’ construct to form effective Project Teams
  • Builds and manages a cross-functional team of Business Analysts (w/ BAQA focus), Test Leads, Test Engineers, and Tools and Technology specialists
  • Attracts, Retains, and Promotes talent from within and outside of Testing COE; Develops talent bench for succession planning
  • Establishes partnerships with Industry partners to source software, services, and innovation ideas
  • Utilizes Lean and Agile practices to improve scalability, reduce all forms of waste, and create self-service capabilities for EIT teams

Requirements (must have):

  • Previous experience as an Application Development Manager, Test Manager, or Business Analysis Manager
  • Experience with developing estimates, models, and executive summaries
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, Iterative, or hybrid methodology
  • Experience with SAP Business Processes such as OTC, PTP, etc
  • Experience with building and leading teams
  • Experience with Automation Tools and Technology such as UFT, Worksoft, or other Open Source products (Cucumber, Hiptest, Selenium, etc)
  • Experience with Microfocus ALM and Jira
  • Strong interpersonal skills, combined with experience, to influence thinking of various stakeholders
  • Be able to undertake short-duration domestic and or international travel to deployment and or team sites

Requirements (highly desired):

  • Continuous Testing as part of CI/CD implementation
  • Business Case development
  • Leading large-audience conference calls or townhalls
  • Familiarity some or all – Jenkins, Integration technologies, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Amazon AWS, Container technologies, Databases, Splunk, Service-now, Microservices architecture, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 8 years of relevant experience in solution delivery
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related discipline
