Occupational Nurse - Sr. Analyst, Individualized Care


Occupational Health nursing is the specialty practice that provides for and delivers health and safety services to employees. The practice focuses on promotion and restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury, immediate care for injuries and illness, health education, medical surveillance, confidential record management and administers the workers’ compensation program to include medical management. Industrial nurses make independent nursing judgments in providing health care services within this autonomous specialty. Manages/administers employees’ benefits, workers compensation, health promotion, and FMLA and ensures compliance with state and federal laws. 


Evaluate/triage employees with injuries or illnesses and treat according to established protocols. Such care and treatment includes administration of minor non-prescription remedies, first aid, and emergency measures such as CPR. 

Coordinates and directs care provided by supervisors and first aid attendants in regards to handling of employee medical issues during non-working hours (24/7).  Strong telephone assessment and decision making skills are necessary.

Perform/schedule medical surveillance activities related to administration of hearing conservation, respiratory protection,  ethylene oxide and isocyanate standards.

Assess employees’ work capacity, match physical capacity with job.

Assesses non-occupational illness occurring at work, determines need for immediacy of treatment, and gives guidance to seek care from personal health care providers.

Manage the site’s Job Safety Analysis program..

Administer the Workers’ Compensation program, including contacting the insurance carrier, consulting and coordinating appointments with the treating physician, facilitates claims processing with insurance and third party representatives, case management from onset of injury or illness to a safe return to work, assists supervisors and employees with modified scheduling and restricted work accommodations, and providing information for litigation as necessary.  Care is coordinated with a focus on achieving quality care delivered in a cost-effective manner. 

Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential medical records in accordance/compliance with laws. Develops and implements policies and procedures that support department and company goals. Administer the site’s EHS Internal Audit Program.

Conducts assigned Environmental, Health and Safety training (ex. CPR/ FA, blood borne pathogens, hearing conservation, ergonomics, etc.). Occasional travel related to administration of Camden, SC location’s health services delivery. Conduct and administer medical first responder training for site Emergency Response Team. Lead site Safety Committee in support of the site’s EHS improvement efforts. Assist in the implementation of the site’s Environmental, Health and Safety Management System.

Organizes/coordinates health fairs, screenings, and vaccines.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of CPR/FA/BBP training and certification. 

Maintain current CPR/FA/BBP certification. Assists and acts as a liaison with AskHR for training, administration, and coordination of Health and Welfare benefits including leave administration and tracking. Maintains OSHA log record keeping.

Plans and works within acceptable / approved budget maintaining appropriate equipment and adequate supplies. Registered Nurse or LPN with  equivalent experience


Licensed to practice as registered nurse in the state of GA and strongly preferred to practice also in SC (or the ability to obtain SC licensing upon hire)

Minimum of 5 years occupational or related experience. 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

BLS, Audiometry, Spirometry Certification (or ability to obtain). 


Knowledge of health promotion/illness and injury prevention, risk reduction and risk communication. Good working knowledge of OSHA record keeping procedures and OSHA regulations in regard to industry.  GA Workers Compensation rules and regulations, Good working knowledge of community resources in regard to health related issues.  Possess good oral communication skills as well as being able to organize work efficiently.  Should be self-motivated.

Other Skills:

Ability to plan, work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.  Work well under pressure, and problem solve as appropriate. Basic Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

This position reports to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager with a strong working relationship with the Human resources department and AskHR. Regular interface with all departments and associate levels and various outside vendors.


The work environment is an office setting.  Occasionally, and expected of this position, the duties require going on the manufacturing floor.   The noise level in the manufacturing environment is relatively loud.  Hair nets, beard covers and ear protection required while in manufacturing.   Rings and exposed jewelry except for a close fitting watch are to be removed. Overtime and off shift coverage will be required as needed. Occasional travel will be required.  Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, which require following basic safety precautions.
