What Financial Planning & Analysis contributes to Cardinal Health?

Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for being objective and strategic financial partners, leading collaborative cross-functional effort to drive relevant, flexible and efficient financial planning and analysis that supports our key business decisions.

  • Analyzes business trends
  • Supports financial forecasts and long range planning processes within FP&A. Sales and margin reporting and forecasting
  • Supports preparation of monthly financial reporting including variance and financial statement analysis. Able to clearly communicate a cohesive and concise story around business drivers behind financial data and potential implications on future results.
  • Supports Creation financial models and scenarios as a key input for business planning decisions.
  • Manages regional annual budget processes, incorporating business initiatives, economic trends and operational effectiveness.
  • Performs customer and product profitability analysis and makes investment and pricing decisions. Identifies opportunities to drive revenue growth, margin expansion and a more favorable mix (i.e., driving preferred products and services).
  • Understands market dynamics and competitors. Conducts complex analysis, synthesizes and summarizes implications to business, influencing business partners using analytics and business understanding.
  • Serves as an objective financial steward with an enterprise perspective, safeguarding our company's assets.
  • Collaborates with multi-functional partners, both internally and externally, to manage Order-to-Cash processes (i.e., credit, collections, cash application, invoicing, pricing)
  • Designs and implements internal controls across Order-to-Cash
  • Partners with Corporate Accounting and external accounting partners to execute upon Record-to-Report processes in a timely and accurate fashion. 
  • Credit and Collections: Leads credit approval and collections process and collaborates with collectors to manage credit limits, DSO, reserves and write-offs.
  • Pricing Execution: Ensures list price changes are maintained in SAP and pricing controls are being followed.
  • Work with demand planners and operations on inventory planning and intercompany transactions
  • Collaborates with Tax, FP&A, and third party logistics company to manage intercompany transfer pricing
  • Pricing controls: Work with Bids & Tenders and commercial organization to resolve price discrepancies
  • Assist with month-end close, working with 3PL, Corporate Accounting, and external accounting

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related fields
  • 5+ years’ experience, preferably supporting Latin America
  • Must be fully bilingual (Spanish & English)
  • Multinational experience a plus
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Independent, detail-oriented, hands-on approach
  • Effective problem solver, capable of gathering any and all information related to a specific issue and distilling it down in order to solve the problem-at-hand.
  • Advance proficiency in:  Excel, Microsoft Word and Power Point
  • Travel requirements <25%
  • Ability to implements large scale/complex processes to oversee and coordinate the ethics and compliance program.
