What Business Analysis contributes to Cardinal Health

Business Analysis is responsible for deeply understanding the business in multiple functional areas and across Business Units, as well as understanding the application landscape and capabilities. They maintain relationships with the business and leverage requirements engineering practices and methods to enable improved business processes to drive business success. They align business strategies and capability needs into business and technical requirements to ensure IT systems enable the desired value.

  • Knows and executes best practices for business analysis processes and functions (from an industry and strategic standpoint), including requirements elicitation methods. Knows emerging trends.
  • Defines requirements in accordance with SDP/SDLC, management and project/product scope. Ensures problem statements and objectives are clearly defined. Ensures requirements are aligned to project scope, objectives and strategies.
  • Leads elicitation sessions using variety of requirements gathering methods such as interviews, documentation analysis, surveys, site visits, business models with executives, managers, developers and subject matter experts.
  • Facilitates the team through the analysis of, and makes recommendations towards, complex business decisions.
  • Mediates across different IT teams utilizing knowledge of IT and roles and responsibilities within the organization.
  • Focuses on process analysis and re-engineering, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent listening, communication, and facilitation skills.

Accountabilities

  • Elicit and define requirements for client projects by reviewing, understanding, and analyzing business processes as they relate to the ConnectSource functionality and working with the business units to solve for business needs. Includes evaluation and integration of ConnectSource with additional third-party solutions
  • Maintain and track change management requirements within the ConnectSource platform, including necessary communication and training back to the team for updates and changes. Ensure proper testing of all changes
  • Assists business users with standard configuration setup
  • Assist with defining user roles, security, workflow rules, profiles, business rules, and permission sets
  • Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, application configuration and user guides as needed
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of projects and subsequent support to the business (APS and Pharmacy Services) relative to the ConnectSource platform by applying knowledge of the application’s functionality and client business requirements throughout the software development life cycle
  • Support, review and QA program configuration
  • Drive the identification of custom program rules
  • Work directly with all interested parties to document functional requirements that meet business needs, and define business processes related to the implementation of new programs
  • Identify and implement operational improvements, enhancements, and system customizations that meet business requirements
  • Build client trust and respect, establish client relationships, and develop rapport with client
  • Responsible for tracking billable time

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience working in hub services
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products preferred
  • 5+ experience working with clients and developing relationships
  • 5+ years cross functional business experience including business analysis, data analysis, solutions development, and business process analysis
  • Experience successfully delivering on client expectations
  • Strong experience in constructing business process flows, gathering requirements and solution design documents and ­leading customer discussions
  • Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people
  • Strong experience with case management, portals, reports, dashboards, workflows, etc.
  • Strong experience in support process for customer care and call center environments
  • Proven ability to perform or oversee large scale business systems analysis, including business requirements mapping and requirements translation into functional client solutions
  • Willingness and enthusiasm towards Salesforce.com training and developing a new expertise
  • Strong project management skills and working knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Proactively and aggressively keeps current with latest version of tools and languages and works towards improving proficiency
