What Business Intelligence contributes to Cardinal Health
Business Intelligence (BIA) is responsible for applying business process knowledge and data analytics to develop, recommend and communicate timely, accurate, relevant, and actionable insights to support business decisions and objectives.

  • Uses knowledge of business objectives, strategies, and needs to identify opportunities where data can be leveraged to achieve the desired business benefits.
  • Asks probing questions to translate business needs in order to build and design reporting solutions (metric management, dashboards, enterprise performance management).
  • Applies data visualization, descriptive and summary statistical techniques for discovery and timely insights (data exploration, ad-hoc queries, and analysis).
  • Interprets results of analyses, identifies trends and issues (forecasting), and develops alternatives to support business objectives.
  • Applies data aggregation, descriptive analysis and data presentation techniques and tools to communicate complex findings and recommendations to influence others to take action.
  • Demonstrates ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex information to a variety of audiences and mediums.

Accountabilities in this role

  • Develop analytics and advanced analytics solutions to solve business problems.
  • Create, apply & present statistical modeling - predictive, network, and regression.
  • Apply BI&A development methodology to problem solving (Define, Develop, Validate and Implement).
  • Collaborate with business resources to solve complex problems through data analytics.
  • Utilize the BI&A reporting systems to document requests from the business.
  • Develop and manage business expectations through implementation.
  • Partner with EIT to find data and develop analytics solutions.
  • Advocate and support the NPS BI&A tools and methodology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Math, Statistics, Engineering, MIS)
  • 4+ years’ experience in related field preferred
  • Advanced Analytics experience
  • Experience with data query, visualization, dashboard and/or scorecard tools preferred
  • Experience with Business Intelligence Tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, and Business Objects
  • Extensive experience performing Analysis, Visualization, Reporting
  • Familiarity with applying statistics and mathematics to modeling
  • Hands on experience in Data Analysis/validation/data mapping and proficient in SQL queries
  • Knowledge of Data warehouse/ETL design
  • Experience developing Business/Functional Requirement documentation and facilitating requirement work sessions with Business Units/Clients
  • Strong strategic and creative thinking with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills in an internal client facing role with ability to present information and findings clearly in analysis/reports
