Cardinal Health Canada is currently seeking an Human Resources Generalist Consultant for a 9 months contract. The Human Resources Generalist provides HR support to the Mississauga Distribution Centre (NSC) by providing expertise all of areas of Human Resources including but not limited to; recruitment, on boarding, health and safety, employee relations, performance management and Human Resources programs and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as a liaison between associates, management, and all other HR functions.
  • Participate and support various Human Resources administrative duties including but not limited to HRIS, employment equity, reporting, audits and the creation and maintenance of employee files;
  • Create on boarding packages and deliver orientation programs to new hires;
  • Assist all employees on questions pertaining but not limited to payroll and benefits.
  • Prepare written and verbal communication practices and policies, disciplinary actions and employment status changes.
  • Promote the rollout of Global HR initiatives;
  • Management Representative for the Health & Safety and Joint Employee Management Committees

Experience

  • Post-secondary education in human resources or a business discipline;
  • 5 years’ experience in an HR generalist function.
  • Experience dealing with hourly employees in a manufacturing / logistics or distribution environment would be an asset.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization while taking a customer service approach.
  • Sound business judgment and a proactive approach to problem solving;
  • Excellent time management capabilities, including the ability to prioritize diverse tasks within a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
